In Honor of Bro. Glenn

Dan 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

We interrupt this blog to give you the good news that my good friend and one of our charter members, Bro. Glenn Haigh, entered into the joy of our Lord this morning at about 3:30.

Yesterday, I told him I was jealous that he got to beat the rest of us to glory, but we will all be along soon enough.

Mary, his faithful help meet, is praising God for His mercy and grace. Glenn suffered so these past couple of weeks and is now pain free. He is absent from his mortal body and present with the Lord, as Paul teaches us.

We will miss Glenn. He was the consummate “good ole boy.” He loved to witness to everyone he could, though his methods were somewhat unusual. But he wasn’t shy in telling people about Jesus and about our church.

We always had great fellowship, always refreshing one another in the Lord. I’ll never forget the day he came to my house with a basin and a towel and decided he needed to wash the pastor’s feet. I did get super frustrated with him at times. He was going to do things his own way and in his own good time. But only the good memories will remain.

Rest well, Bro. Glenn, unless the Lord allows you to drag Glory Road up there in your Camaro! I hope you don’t drop your tranny.
