Don't Celebrate Too Soon

Pro 24:17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

When the bad guy is going down, don't throw a party. If he is imploding, don't interrupt the process. The righteous Judge of all the earth will do right, in His good time. But we can short circuit God's justice if our heart is in the wrong place, rejoicing at their downfall.

Though God is angry with the wicked everyday (Ps 9:5), He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezek 33:11). Your enemies, God's enemies are souls for which Jesus died. They will pay dearly for their blasphemy and their mistreatment of God's anointed. But they are His creation and the target of His salvation.

WHAT IF your ungodly enemy repents and becomes a great servant of the Lord? Have you given that any thought? “Well, they’ll never do that!” you say, but YOU DID! (Didn’t you?)

It is best to leave the evil doer in the hands of the Just One. Our wrath worketh not the righteousness of God, James 1:20.

So, when the bad guy's going down, don't party, just get out of God's way and let the Sovereign Lord have His will and way.
