I wonder how many us really sing praises to God with our whole hearts and how often we just go through the motions, filling up that 20 or 25 minutes of a church service dedicated to the music.
Below are 4 requirements of our worship in song as prescribed in Psalm 47.
Let's be sure to praise the great King with the respect and worship that is do Him the next time we meet. He is worthy!!!
1. It should involve the whole
person body, soul and spirit!
a. Clap your hands
b. The entire congregation must
be involved
c. Shout unto God
d. With the voice of triumph
Psa
47:1
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2. It should involve our
understanding. We cannot sing mindlessly, just mouthing the words, but must
consciously acknowledge what we sing. 3. It must be praiseful.
Psa 47:7 For God
is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
4. It must uplift the Lord first and foremost.
Psa 47:9 The
princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the
earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
