Luke 24:50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
Flawed disciples, men who had recently failed the Lord. Men who would now be so changed and filled, men with backbones of steel and a fire in their bosoms who will now turn the world up-side-down.
These are the ones who were blessed by the Lord as He ascended up into the heavens.
The blessing given to the disciples were also meant for you and me. The raised hands of our Lord upon the Apostles are also raised in blessing upon us that we would go forth to perpetuate the good news and share the living waters.
As they were blessed on the Mount of Olives on ascension day, I am blessed today, blessed with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Let us all be sensitive to the possibilities which will confront us today that we may turn some lost sinner's world up-side-down for Jesus!
