A Little Leaven

Jos 23:11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God. 12 Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you: 13 Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

God's warning applies to us still today. We must be wholeheartedly with Him. We must withhold nothing from Him.

As Ananias and Sapphira kept back part of the price of the land to their peril, so will we greatly suffer if we cling to unsurrendered areas of our life.

Israel of old greatly erred by intermingling with the locals. It brought the leaven among them and proved to be their undoing on many occasions.

Are we totally surrendered to the One who gave His all for us? Do we cling to the old rugged cross with one arm while embracing elements of this old ragged world with the other? It is best to let go of that which will always let us fall and cling to that which is unfailing.

Don't allow the leaven of this world's system keep you from total victory.
