The Children of Israel and ADD

Ex 32:1  And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Silly people, they knew the Mount was filled with God's glory. It wasn't too long before that lightenings, thunders and earthquakes resulted from the advent of the Lord upon the mountain. They had seen the Shekinah glory of the Lord on Moses' face after meeting God there. They had witnessed the feet of the Almighty treading upon a sapphire sidewalk. Now this!!!

Their gaze toward the mountain reminded them of the true God, but looking at 5 weeks without a leader, surrounded by desert caused them to doubt, then fear, then commit idolatry. "Aaron, make us a golden calf so we have something to worship!" And what is up with Aaron? Talk about a people-pleasing, lily-livered, sorry excuse for a back-up! "Give me your jewelry and let me see what I can come up with. There you go, your new god, which brought you up out of Egypt. Yeppers, folks, let me make an altar for you to dance before your holy cow."

Instead of Ritalin to help with their ADD, Moses ground the idol to powder and shoved it down their throats!
