He Does See and Hear

Psa 94:9  He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

There are those times when we wonder if God really does hear our prayers...when the baby is deathly ill, when our finances continually fail to meet the needs, when that loved one won't give in to the call of the Savior.

God is not interested in being our personal Genie, granting requests at our whims. But He does hear and answer every request made by His children. Sometimes the answer is "no," sometimes "yes," and sometimes, "in good time." And there are those times when we get the go ahead, but with alterations.

I prayed for the salvation of my family for decades. To me, it seemed like it would be God's will that they come to Christ. I began to grow impatient as time passed. But, one by one, some after months of prayer, some after years and some after decades, they all trusted the Lord for salvation. It wasn't that the Lord didn't hear my prayers, rather, that He was doing what was necessary to prepare them to accept Him. Also, it kept me praying and living the testimony I needed to so they might witness what a Christian life is supposed to be.

The issue was not whether or not God heard my prayer and would answer, but a matter of timing and for the prayers to reach their maturity.

I am praying now that my wife and I would be able to sell a property that has been an albatross around our necks for several years. It has drained us of about $60,000 or $70,000 that sure could have went toward other things. But we understand that God knows best and will, in His own good time, grant our request. In the meantime, it keeps us dependent on Him.

Look, fellow believer, He made the ear, don't think He doesn't hear. He fashioned the eye, don't imagine that He is watching over you. Keep on praying and serving.

Open Thy Mouth Wide and I Will Fill It

Psa 81:10  I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

A preacher I once knew was preaching away, when suddenly a fly flew right down his throat! He thought a second and then quoted this verse to his people, Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it.

What we have here is an offer from the Lord for those who trust Him. His part is to fill our mouths, ours is to open our mouths, and more so, open them wide. The more open our mouths, the more He can fill us.

He fills us with the right words

He fills us with sustenance

He fills us with His Spirit

He fills us with goodness

He fills us with faith

We limit the Lord's filling by refusing to even open our mouths and, if we do, we don't open them wide enough.

The question is, do we have the faith to open up and let God bless us? Or will we continue to live a life lacking in abundant blessings for failure to open wide?

The Psalmist Bloggeth

Psalm 45:1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

David was a blogger. He would be out in the wilderness, his footsteps hounded by an enemy and rather than pout, he penned Scripture, rather than ring his hands, he raised them in praise, rather than give up, he gives us hope.

Oh that we would turn our banes into blessings by seeing God's hand at work in the midst of our problems and, in turn, encouraging others. David, along with a few others, did so with a blog that we now call Psalms.

Investment and Withdrawal

Psalm 41:1  Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. 2  The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3  The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

The Bible is replete with reminders of sowing and reaping. Here is a good one. Be sensitive to and take care of the truly needy and God will ensure that you are ministered to in your time of need.

An old song says, "it's a gimmie, gimmie, take, take, gimmie, gimmie, take, take world." Unfortunately, this is how most people operate.

There are givers and there are takers. Taker's needs are never satisfied and the giver's satisfaction is in meeting needs.

Jesus said, it is more blessed to give than to receive.

One of the great blessings of giving is that God sees to it that the benefactor is replenished so that they are able to continue being a conduit.

Friend, invest in the needs of others and God will allow you to make withdrawals in your time of need

This week's victory concerning Obama-Care and the Catholic Church ought to encourage all freedom loving believers to unite in fervent prayers that this would be just the first of many victories turning our nation back to righteousness.

*The ordeal that Hobby-Lobby is facing under Obama-Care would be a good issue for which to start praying. They should not be forced to provide healthcare to employees that includes morally objectionable mandates.

*Additionally, so many are concerned that the Constitution is being subjugated to globalism. Please pray that God would turn the hearts of our elected leaders to pay heed to the Bible and respect the Constitution.

*Pray that abortion on demand would end! This holocaust has to be stopped.
