Who is Jesus?

In John 7, the Messiahship of Jesus is argued extensively. Here are some of the things which were being said and thought of Him:
1. His own brothers didn't believe in Him (at that time. (5)
2. The world hated Him. (7)
3. Some Jews sought Him. (11)
4. Some murmured about Him. (12)
5. Some said He is a good man. (12)
6. Others said He is a deceiver. (12)
7. They tried not to speak openly about Him for fear of the Jews. (13)
8. They marveled about His teaching. (15)
9. They wondered how He could teach as He did without a higher education.  (15)
10. Some accused Him of having a devil. (20)
11. They denied the assassination plots. (20)
12. They were amazed that He healed on the Sabbath. (22-23)
13. They judged according to appearances. (24)
14. They wondered if their religious leaders thought He might actually be the Messiah. (26)
15. If He were Christ, wouldn't His origins be different? (27)
16. They wanted to take Him and kill Him. (30)
17. Many believed! They figured, if He is not the Christ, would the real Christ be able to do greater works than Jesus did? (31)
18. Surely, this is the anointed Prophet. (40)
19. This is the Christ! (41)
20. But, can Christ hail from Galilee? (41)
21. There was division in their opinions. (43)
22. Never a man spoke like this man. (46)
23. Why haven't any of the Pharisees believed on Him? (48)
24. Only the simple ones have trusted Him. (49)
25. At least one Pharisee believed! (50-51)
26. Everyone went home with their own opinion. (53)

The point is, everyone has his or her own thoughts about Jesus. Some are right, some are not. Some are sincere, some are sincerely wrong.

The truth is, Jesus is exactly Who He says He is. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the Bread sent down from Heaven, the Living Water, the Light of the World. He is the Son of God and the Son of Man. He is the Good Shepherd, the Great Shepherd and the Chief Shepherd. He is Messiah, Saviour, Judge, Redeemer and Friend. He is Lord of lords and King of kings.

We must never doubt His works, His power or His sovereignty.

You eternity depends on what you believe about Jesus, what you will do with Jesus and how you respond to Him as He knocks on your heart’s door.
