We Shall See Jesus!

Rev 1:12  And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13  And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14  His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15  And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 16  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Those who claim to have died, had an out of body experience, went to heaven and the returned to this life share that they all saw a great light. Some of these people I have a great respect for and know that they are as reliable as can be. I do not doubt their experiences.

Could it be that the brilliance they all relate is the glory of the Lord Jesus Himself? You will recall that when Moses met with the Lord on Sinai, he only looked at His backside and yet Moses glowed for days. So much so that he had to wear a veil so that others could bear to look at him.

Peter, James and John testified of the transfiguration of the Lord and described His face shining as the sun and His raiment was white as the light. Think about it, John got to see the Lord's heavenly glory twice before he actually died.

Paul tried a description, but gave up and just said, "It is against the law for me to even try to tell you."

So, what will it be when we see Him? It will be glory! "The half has not been fancied this side the golden shore, oh, there He'll be still sweeter than He ever was before!" The Scripture tells us:

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isa 64:4

And that verse's New Testament counterpart:

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Cor 2:9 

I marvel to think that one of these days, whether through the valley of the shadow of death, or by the rapture of believers, I will have taken my last look upon the things of this earth and my next gaze will be upon His glorious face.
