Impending Doom

Eccl 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. Do you ever have that guilty feeling, that sense of impending doom, that anytime the other shoe will fall? And yet, you know you have nothing to feel guilty about. As far as you know, as you have allowed the Holy Spirit to search your life, there is no sin to confess, nothing for which to be judged? This is called "imagined guilt" and should not be confused with real guilt. Real guilt comes when you know you have transgressed God's holy commandment and you need to confess your wrong to the Lord. Imagined guilt comes from the enemy, the accuser of the brethren, whose job it is to steal, kill and destroy. And then there is the person who is so blessed by God and feels so undeserving of those blessings that they just know the blessings have to cease soon. Hey, it's called grace. We DON'T deserve what God does for us! We should just appreciate and enjoy those fruitful seasons. Life experience has taught many that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights, however, blessing and sorrow are the two rails on the tracks of life. They provide an inseparable balance for us as we head toward the station. Our suffering does not necessarily mean that evil has come upon us. It could be that God appoints problems to keep us on our prayer bones or is strengthening us and fashioning us into good soldiers. So, keep on serving the King, walking in the Spirit and don't trust those feelings. Don't listen to the enemy's lies. Enjoy the day that God gives you. Use the wisdom that God has given you to discern judgment and necessary life adjustments. I think the serenity prayer is appropriate:
