The Seeds of Mt 13

Imagine this, Jesus devotes an entire chapter, a lengthy one at that, to the sowing of seeds and the reaping of the harvest.

The Lord emphasizes three different aspects of horticulture:
1. Gospel Seeds - the character of the soils
2. Wheat and Tare Seeds - the character of the sowers
3. Mustard Seeds - the character of seeds

Ultimately, He challenges us with the words, "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." (vs 9) and "have ye understood all these things?" (vs 51)

Those who master this chapter have a good grasp on how things work in the kingdom of God. The dynamics of the receptiveness of the Gospel, the character of the sower and how effective the seed can be are expounded here.
